Texas Rangers, Company A

It is described on the official Texas Ranger website. The original of this badge was carved from a Mexico peso coin, and the back of the badge still shows the Mexican eagle and the wording on the peso: Estados Unidos Mexicanos.

Handcast sterling silver, 9 dwt., 1.625" dia.

I think I may have found one of these while cleaning out my grandmothers house. How much would an authentic one be worth?

I am doing research on these badges and any input or question is appreciated. Photos are very welcome.
Any badge marked .925, Sterling or with annomalous features is of particular interest. Any badge made from an actual coin is also of substantial interest.
Most all web resources and major auction houses have been consulted or accessed and been deemed either not substantial or not credible.
I am looking for an original and will know it when I find it. Let me know what you have, please.
